Rahu occupying the Kendra houses, (viz.) 4,7 or 10, all alone would try to harm the functionalities of the houses during his dasa or bhukti as applicable for the Trinal houses.

That means, Rahu in the 4th house would affect either the education, house, vehicle or mother and the Rahu in the 7th would affect either spouse, friends, married life, partners etc. and the 10th Rahu would affect either job or business or livelihood.

Another subtlety here is that in such configurations, the living functionalities would be affected first more than the non-living functionality. That means the living functionality of the 4th house being mother would be more affected during the dasa of Rahu more than the non-living functionalities like education, house or vehicle.

During the dasa of Rahu that is associated with malefics, the live functionality of the 7th house, being the spouse, would be affected. In certain situations, an Angular Rahu attaining subathuva (beneficence) along with malefics would affect the live functionality but would give financial elevation.

Another special alignment is that when an angular Rahu gets associated with the 5th and 9th lords of the ascendant or Guru, Sukra, Budha or waxing Chandra, then he would spoil the functional and significatory aspects of the planets in association even while grabbing their strength and character on to himself and become a magnificent benefic to give lot of benefits during his dasa. A native with such a configuration would have a very unforgettable and remarkable Rahu dasa in their lifetime.

Next, before explaining further on Rahu placed in the ascendant, which is an Angular and also a Trinal house….

A reader(fan) had raised a question, why are Angular and Trinal houses 1,4,7,10 and 1,5,9 respectively are highly regarded? What is the intricacy?

Trinal houses are three different signs of zodiac having the same stellar configuration. Angular houses have a similar characteristic containing the constellation of all the nine planets in a sequence.

To the Kaalapurusha (man of the era), Simha and Dhanu are the Trinal(1,5,9) houses to the first house, Mesha. All these three signs of zodiac would have the stellar configurations owned by the same set of planets.

That is, Ashwini, Barani, Krithika in Mesha, Makha, Purvaphalguni, Uttaraphalguni in Simha and Moola, Purvashada, Uttarashada in Dhanu indicate the rulership of Kethu, Sukra and Surya respectively.

Also, the three Trinal zodiacal signs have a different characteristics with Mesha, being a moveable sign, Simha , an immoveable sign and Dhanu, being a dual sign. In the same fashion, the Trinal houses for all the signs of zodiac would have the same set of stellar configurations.

If we analyse the Angular houses, 1,4,7 or 10, Kataka, Tula and Makara are the angular houses to Mesha. Amongst these, Mesha has Ashwini, Barani,1st leg of Krithika followed by 2nd leg of Uttarashada, Sravana, Dhanista 2nd leg in Makara, further on to Tula with Chitra 3, Swathi, Visakha 3 and further on to Kataka with 4th leg of Punarvasu, Pushya, Ashlesha, thereby sequentially completing the list of stars belonging to all the nine planets.

Also further, all these signs are moveable and all the Angular houses conform to being either moveable or immoveable or dual. There would be no change in the characteristic. These are the specialities of the Angular and Trinal houses.

There a very important intricacy that is brought out in my repeated writing to stress that natural malefics like Sani or Mangal should never own a Trinal house. If I try to explain the same here, the present discussion would change course, hence I would explain this aspect further at the next opportunity.

Ascendant indicates the native, that means yourself. Accurate predictions with about 100% certainty can be made about yourself if we know, What is the ascendant ? Who is the lord of the ascendant? and What are the planets getting associated with the ascendant.

(I use this method in the first place to predict about the nature and behaviours of people visiting me for prediction. If an astrologer is able to predict these very precisely, the seekers would gain more confidence in him).

Also, I have indicated earlier that Rahu is darkness, hence if Rahu is seated in the ascendant, it implies that you are in darkness. Yourself and your capabilities would never be noticed or seen by anybody. Hence, placement of Rahu in the ascendant is not a favourable disposition.

When Rahu is placed in the ascendant owned by malefics like Sani or Mangal and is also associated with malefics, then the native would be short-tempered, adamant, narrow-minded, selfish, cunning, thankless and foolish.

That too, when Rahu is placed in Mesha ascendant with Mangal not associated with Rahu-Kethu, then the native would be short-tempered and obstinate.

Additionally, if Rahu is placed in Vrischik, Makara or Kumbha and is in close proximity with the 8th lord then he would induce suicidal tendencies. During the dasa or bhukti of Rahu or the 8th lord, native would attempt for a suicide and would also be successful.

Rahu would drive one to end his life by consuming poison or hanging himself. At some situations he is responsible for people taking up to drastic ending. Rahu placed in the ascendant without subathuva (beneficence) or sookshma(intricate) strength would give these results.

Rahu, that is associated with malefics and placed in ascendant would harm both the physical and mental health during his dasa and bhukti. Rahu in association with the 6th lord and placed in the ascendant would create mental patients.

But, when Rahu is conjoined or aspected by benefics and the ascendant happens to be owned by a benefic, his placement in the ascendant does not give negative results.

As Rahu would reflect the characteristics of the owner of the house he is placed in and the planets that aspect him, he would give great benefits when placed in the ascendants like Rishaba, Tula, Meena and Dhanu, that are owned by benefics, with additional association and aspect by benefics.

As Budha and Chandra are conditional benefics ( Budha that is not associated with malefics and Chandra in the waxing phase is a benefic) and when Rahu is placed in their ascendants like Kataka, Mithuna or Kanya with the lords in utmost beneficial status, along with association and aspect of benefics, favourable results can be expected.

But, in general, placement of Rahu in the ascendant is not considered a favourable disposition. A Rahu in the ascendant would not allow the native to shine. What would happen if you are surrounded by darkness…? You would not be noticed outside. Circumstances would not permit your abilities to be displayed. Also, Rahu in the ascendant would cause both mind and the body. He would retard the good nature.

Is 5 years of experience sufficient in Astrology?

I realise that I have influenced readers in some fashion, from their numbers swelling day by day.

As each of my word has a subtle meaning and since I take utmost care to choose the appropriate word, I presume that my writings would be understood well by the readers.

But, there are a few who confuse differentiating between functionalities and significations. It is also a fundamental lesson in Astrology that a single planet is never responsible for any event.

An event or an action happens through combination of planets, never by any individual planet. A solitary planet would never be able to accomplish anything at all.

In the article that I wrote earlier, I had indicated that Guru within close proximity to Rahu would be unable to give children, wealth, honest nature and spiritual inclination.

A reader who claimed to have fiiiiiiiiiivvvveee!! years of experience, claimed to be spiritually very much inclined as Guru and Rahu were conjoined within 2 degrees.

I enquired if he had children and wealth during the dasa of Guru. “No, everything could be gained only during the das a of Sani”.. he remarked. I explained that his spiritual inclination is due to Sani placed in the 7th house of Rishaba in a friendly disposition also with digbala (directional strength) to his Vrischik ascendant.

Spirituality is bestowed by a combination of three planets, Guru, Sani and Kethu. Similarly, any signification cannot be bestowed by a single planet. For example, longevity cannot be anticipated just because Sani is exalted. Longevity is derived from a combination of the lord of ascendant, 8th lord and Sani.

An experience of 5 years in Astrology is only a beginner’s stage. That means you are in LKG. Further, only if you behold the fortune of completing post-graduation like MA or MPhil would you be able to have a reasonable understanding.

Similarly, my 30 year-long experience cannot be completely explained by writing 3 pages here or by your talking to me for 3 minutes.

Even if I explain an intricacy in the most simplified manner, only if there is a capacity to understand, the intricacy could be comprehended. Else, it would only lead to confusion.

But, when years roll-by and capability to understand improves, the comments of this simpleton would be understood someday….!
