The basic sutras in Vedic astrology are known to only rishis and sages.
For example, why the Rasi Mandala is divided into 12 parts, and why it is not in 18 parts? No one can answer this question and this is beyond our questioning power.
Likewise, from inception, it is taught Jupiter is a benefic and Saturn is malefic. Only Yogis know the reason.
Similarly, they only know, how the benefic and malefic sequence is formed like benefic - Jupiter, Venus, Mercury, waxing Moon, malefic - Saturn, and Mars.
They have a strong reason why this categorization should not be in reverse.
Of god’s grace, at the age of 33 years, during Moon Dasa Mercury bukthi, after an in-depth analysis, I was allowed to know the nuances of such secrets.
Even after 1000s of years, many nuances of Vedic astrology like benefic, and malefic segregation are kept as secrets.
These secrets are hard to figure out. The almighty allowed me to realize this.
If we understand this, then the prediction part will be easy. Hence let me explain this in this chapter.
We all identify an ill event by comparing that with an auspicious one.
Only when we know the pleasure, we can realize how the sadness will be.
A light is useful only when there is darkness.
When I explain how Saturn became malefic, it is mandatory to say how Jupiter became a benefic planet.
Hence let us know now why Jupiter is a prime benefic planet and Saturn is a first-grade malefic.
We are all born with light and survive with light. Vedic astrology is called Jyothish, Jyothi means light and Jyothish is the knowledge about light.
The Sun is the prime planet for light. All living things are born and survive due to Sunlight.
Except for the Sun, all planets that travel around the Sun do not have self-light.
They all receive light from the Sun and reflect them.
By receiving this Sunlight, planets emit their rays on the neighbouring planets. They transfer their rays mutually. This has created an ideal atmosphere on the earth for the survival of creatures and thus we live.
Every planet is responsible for our survival; thus, they give us their Karakathva and make us act accordingly. This is communicated well in a hidden way.
Maha Kavi Kalidas in his incomparable Jyothish book Uttara Kalamrutha, has explained the planets rays’ range in the heading of ‘Graha Kala Parimana’
The meaning of Graha Kala Parimana is the quantity of Planets’ ray’s range. (I have already explained this in another article in detail)
Maharishi Kalidas has given the planets’ rays level fall on the earth as hereunder:
Sun - 30
Moon – 16
Mercury – 8
Venus – 12
Mars – 6
Jupiter – 10
Saturn – 1
In this luminary ray, Sun and Moon have been given 30 and 16.
The rest of the planets Jupiter, Venus, Mercury, Saturn, and Mars are two Athipathya planets. Hence that should be multiplied by 2 and thus the total will be 120.
The luminary wheel will be as given below.
We all know this prime number 120 is vital in Vedic astrology.
This unique specialty is only in Indian Vedic astrology and not in any other stargazing system in the world.
Maharishi Parashar has used this unique number 120 in his rare invention Vimshodri Dasa which gives accurate predictions of human life from birth to death.
Further in the Rasi chart, from Ashwini to Ashlesha, the total degree is 120*, 3 such parts and together is 360* which is the Rasi chart.
The full Rasi mandala is 360*, multiplied by 9 (total number of planets), which is equal to 3240, and that is to be divided by 27 (total number of stars) and finally, it is 120.
This can be explained in some other way also, but since that will be a little confusing, I hope it is enough now.
Moon, Mercury, and Venus are in the inner circle (between Earth and Sun). Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn are called outer circle planets.
Sun is the foremost planet and all planets get light from the Sun and revolve around the Sun, hence Sun is given 30 points/Kala, the highest constant figure.
The Moon is at a distance of 4 lakh km from us, the inner circle planets Mercury and Venus are around 10 crore km from us, outer circle planet Mars is around 8 crore km distance from us. Jupiter and Saturn are further far away from us.
In this, the Moon has 16 points/Kala and is at a distance of 4 lakhs km away from us, and approximately 15 crore km distance from the Sun. When compared to the Sun’s 30 points/Kala, the Moon’s points/Kala is 53.3%.
Mercury is 5 crore and eighty lakhs km distance from the Sun and its reflecting level, that is points/Kala on Earth is 8 and its percentage is 26.7
Venus is 10.8 crores km away from the Sun. Its points/Kala on Earth is 12 and its percentage is 40. Venus is always bright in the sky.
All these are in the inner circle between Sun and Earth. Sun’s distance from them is around 15 crore km.
Now we can see the outer circle planets Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. Mars receives the light from the Sun and reflects the same on the earth and it is only 6 and its percentage is 20.
Mars is at a distance of approximately 22.8 crore km from the Sun, but its proximity to Earth is close and it is about 8 crore km.
Let us continue this in the next chapter.
